I sat on the wet grass, people milling about, with my eyes tuned in on the sky. It was a starry night even beneath the harsh glow of the stadium lights. Once a year the whole town gathered for one thing, fireworks. I was always intrigues by the array of color that would exploded into the night sky. I found it to be a beautiful thing, everyone gathered just to see fireworks. I was so fixated on the sky I didn't hear Lance, my boyfriend, come up behind me. He plopped down next to me, jolting me back to reality. I smiled at him as he put his arm around me and kissed my forehead. He pointed out a couple people whom he noticed were dressed oddly.
